Where It Started

A Pittsburgh Original, Built From Scratch

Pizza Perfectta opened its doors at 258 S. Highland Avenue in 1990 with a single, clear ambition: create a pizza Pittsburgh hadn't tasted yet. Not a chain recipe. Not a shortcut. A real, scratch-made pizza built from homemade dough, house-made sauces, and ingredients sourced fresh every single day.

That mission worked. Over 35 years, Perfectta has earned a place in Shadyside's fabric — feeding generations of neighbors, students, families, and late-night cravings. The address hasn't changed. The commitment to the craft hasn't changed. And the pizza still tastes like it was made for you specifically.

Today, under new ownership, Pizza Perfectta enters its next chapter — honoring everything that made it a Pittsburgh institution while building the kind of systems and consistency that will keep it standing for the next 35 years.
